Halloween poster

Last week we were making Halloween posters with Whaea Donna on her first week back. We had to make a Halloween poster with the reasons if Halloween needed to stay or not, and the reasons behind the celebration of Halloween. These are my two posters I would like to share.

Mesurement poster

This week we have been learning about measurement. We have been measuring volume and capacity. I have been working to create this poster about time.
I enjoyed learning to measure but I would like something more challenging next time.

Camp writing (second draft)

Rainbows end
My head hurts… because we are FINALLY going to rainbows end.
I thought this day would never come!!! The first thing we agreed on is the fearfall. I was sooo excited! But when we enter, I ask myself whether I should have stayed on the ground. We get strapped in and I can feel myself slowly rising. And I know what comes next, THE DROP!!! I Have heard people screaming as they go from the top of an 18 story high building to the ground in just 5 seconds. After four nerve-racking seconds, everything starts moving again, very fast. I was so close to crying by the time the ride was over.
About to drop
Rising slowly

Term 3 steam reflection

This term I enjoyed using our breadboards to code with snap4Arduino. This my steam reflection and I would like to share mine with you.

Name Jackson.b     Date 21-9-18
- Coding (Snap4Arduino) and Arduino Boards
In Term 3, the students have been continuing their STEAM learning using the STEAM Electronics kits. They have been learning how to block code using the program Snap4Arduino. The purpose of this learning has been for the students to control one or more LED lights on an electronic Arduino board using code. Each week the coding expectation increased and the students showed perseverance in achieving successful outcomes!
Learning Goal 1. To make an LED blink off/on by controlling voltage from 0V to 5V by programming the Arduino.
Learning Goal 2.  To change the speed of blinking to such a high rate that the LED appears to be dimmer.
Learning Goal 3. To make the LED fade on and off by varying the voltage

2018 - Term 3 STEAM - ‘Coding and Arduino Boards’ Reflective Questions
  1. What was I learning and why? I was learning to code our breadboards to make a light blink from our Chromebooks.

  1. What did I do well and how do I know?
I did well getting the LED lights blinking

  1. What challenged me ……?
Getting the code for the pulse working.

  1. What would I do differently next time to make my learning more successful ….. ?
I could have paid more attention

  1. What have I enjoyed about the learning? I enjoyed learning to make multiple lights pulse on and off.
